RECOGNITION • REFORM • REBUILD

Our campaign calls for three things:

  1. An urgent Act of Parliament to correct the injustice created by the Supreme Court ruling, and to recognise in law the rights of both mothers and fathers to recover damages for psychiatric injury in cases of maternity negligence.
  2. The creation of a Maternity Compensation Scheme to provide redress for those harmed between the date of the Paul ruling and the passage of new legislation. Our families must not be left behind.
  3. Immediate agreement by NHS Resolution to grant reasonable extensions to limitation periods for maternity-related claims as they arise, until the Government has implemented reforms to law on clinical negligence for maternity-related injuries, including psychiatric injuries suffered by both mothers and fathers.

Put more simply:

RECOGNITION • REFORM • REBUILD

We ask for RECOGNITION of our status as parents and as equal victims of avoidable, wrongful, and neglectful maternity care.

We need meaningful legal REFORM. Only an Act of Parliament can correct the inequality that is compounding our trauma.

Allow us the opportunity to REBUILD our resilience, our families, and lives in the aftermath of trauma.
