Teddy was a much wanted, and much-loved baby, and our hearts are broken because he is not with us today. He was at increased risk of having low blood sugar, which was not monitored after his birth.
We found Teddy in his cot when he was one day old; he was floppy and his colour wasn’t right. We did CPR on him until an ambulance arrived. Teddy was taken to A&E with a team of people waiting for him.
Teddy received adrenaline but his heart did not re-start. After several attempts a doctor asked everyone if they could think of anything else and they said 'no' and then everything stopped.
The Supreme Court no longer recognises witnesses of the consequences of medical negligence as secondary victims. My trauma now goes unacknowledged by the courts.
